Enviro-Equipment, Inc., (EEI) a manufacturer of new and refurbished/used control panels, recently announced that its control panel shop received UL 508A and UL 698A certification from Met Labs. The two certifications allow the company to build custom panels to whatever specification customers want - and certify to UL standards that they're safe from electrical shock and fire hazard.
"Getting these two certifications is very important for our company," reports EEI Vice President Brian Chew. "Previous to becoming certified, we would have to have Met Labs come out and certify each panel as it was built - which added thousands of dollars to the cost of the panel. Now we can build control panels to UL standards, inspect them, and ship them out with the MET approved sticker. This saves us and our customers a significant amount of time and money."
Typically, when a control panel is sent to a job site, the customer or end-user has to apply for power from the local electric company. Before the electrical service is connected, a utility inspector must certify that the system meets NEC standards. Having the MET sticker right on the control panel means customers or end-users can eliminate delays at the job site.
EEI builds new and used remediation systems, control panels for SVR Systems, Air Sparge systems, Pump and Treat Systems, and many other applications. The company uses high-quality components from manufacturers such as Cutler Hammer (EATON), Hoffman, IDEC, and Allen Bradley.
